UPDATES AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
Sponsors
You may have noticed some changes to the newsletter this week. Yes, I’m bringing in sponsors now. I know I know, eww capitalism. But hear me out. I’m looking to do it a little differently. I’m very particular about who I choose to sponsor with and I will make sure it stays relevant to the identity industry. Unless of course someone just cuts me a STUUUUPID amount of money, I mean, cmon people I’m human. And I’m working to make sure I get some sweet benefits for you, the people, the Identity Jedi. I’m still early in the process so don’t have a huge list of sponsors yet, but as we grow I’m hoping to bring in more. So there ya have it.
And if you’re reading this and thinking to yourself, hey I want to be a sponsor, I want to do some cool stuff with the Identity Jedi, let’s talk : [email protected]

Let’s Get to the Good Stuff!
Endpoints + Identities = Zero Trust?
Consolidation continues
State of Identity: Nerd Alert!
Endpoints + Identities = Zero Trust?
In the digital age, endpoint security is more important than ever. The traditional perimeter-based security model is inadequate for protecting organizations from cyber threats, as bad guys no longer need to breach an organization's external walls to access sensitive data. ( Just your employee’s home wifi network because they never changed the default password…) The zero trust model provides a more secure approach by focusing on identity and access management (IAM) rather than networks and firewalls. It’s coming, friends; Identity IS Security.
Identity Jedi & S3
I’m super excited to partner with S3 Consulting to help organizations get the most out of their Identity and Access management programs. You all know that I LOVE the identity industry. I see so much room for growth in this field, and I wanted to get back to helping organizations accomplish things at the highest level. So when I started looking for companies to partner with, S3 was on my list.
Why?
Because we share similar beliefs in achieving success, and the biggest one is that it starts with PEOPLE. We wanted to create a program that helps organizations focus on People, Processes, and Technology.
We’ve done just that.
The Identity Intervention isn’t just a regular assessment. It’s full deep dive into the process, people, strategy, and technology. So if you’re a large organization looking for clarity, a small organization trying to understand what’s next, or anywhere in between.
Consolidation Continues
The identity market continues shrinking and aligning closer with security as Allurity aims to become the preferred partner of technology-enabled cybersecurity services in Europe. Secuirx and CLoudComputing become the latest companies to come under the fold. I don’t have much context on either of the companies, but the move itself I find interesting, as around the world more companies are aiming to be the one-stop shop for security services. Not sure if this is a good thing
State of Identity: Nerd Alert
Ok you all know by now that I LOVE to nerd out of statistics. Another juicy report gives some fascinating statistics on the state of identity. This time coming to us from CyberRisk Alliance. One of the stats I found most interesting ( aka scared the living shit out of me) is that almost HALF of the respondents had moderate confidence in their ability to ensure users don’t have excess privileges.
FUCKING HALF!!
I mean at least lie to make us feel better. Ok, well, maybe not, but jeez, we’ve got such a long way to go. (
Building out an Identity Governance practice
Hey Jedi! We’ve got another great guest contributor to the Identity Jedi Universe. Give a warm welcome for Mr. Marcus Wells! You can follow him here for tons of great content about Identity Security.
And you can check out his blog post for this week’s newsletter at the line below. Give it a read, leave some comments let me know what you think!
The Last Word
RSA is upon us and the inbox is already flooded with requests for meetings, and my schedule looks like a toddler’s first drawing when they realized they were different colors in the crayon box. But I’m excited to speak at my first RSA conference and also see what new things vendors have to say. Of course, hit up some parties and do some ummm….”networking”. But honestly most excited to see some friends, have a few good drinks, and (fingers crossed) have a few good meetings that help push along my stealth agenda. ( More on that later. I promise you will be the first to know once it’s ready) Having said that…next week’s newsletter….may be in Jeopardy..lol. I’ll try my best to get it done ahead of time.
